CSW is implementing the five components of RCH Programme under its mother NGO Sanskar Shiksha Samiti of Bhopal, in association and close coordination with Block Medical Officer and Zila Panchayat Departments.

The five components of RCH that CSW is implementing are:

  • Lactating women
  • Pregnant mothers
  • Adolescent girls
  • Children below six years of age
  • Eligible couples and women

During 2007-08, the RCH Programme covered villages of Berasia block of Bhopal district.

The objectives of the programme are:

  • Facilitation of availability of RCH services in rural and inaccessible areas
  • Prevention of Reproductive Tract Infections (RTI)
  • Decision-making ability of women to determine the size of their family

The activities being performed under RCH project include:

  • Training of adolescent girls on physiology, that is, reproductive systems, menstruation and RTI
  • Developing awareness for control on the body and its functions - fertility and family planning
  • Ensuring availability of health services for child immunisation and diarrhoea management
  • Provision of services of ANC and PNC
  • Promoting safe Institutional delivery
  • Essentiality of nutritional food
  • Importance of personal and environmental hygiene
  • Providing first aid services in cases of emergency
  • Empowering about their legal rights under social justice
  • Sensitisation of community members on RCH programme

Apart from RCH Programme, CSW is organising health awareness camps on regular basis at Bhanpur and Geetanagar localities of Bhopal. In these camps, health check-ups were performed Dr Bairagi. During these camps, women were made aware of health and nutritional aspects of their and their children.

CSW is promoting personal hygiene and sanitation amongst children as well as educating them for keeping their surroundings neat and clean. Attempts are also being made to inculcate a sense of general sanitation amongst children of the intervening areas.
